Complaints Of Non-Performance From The Masses Made Me Run – Bob Manuel-Udokwu

Gangling Nollywood actor, Bob Manuel Udokwu has seen it all in the world of acting and looking rather seasoned in the business of governance. After serving under Governor Peter Obi as Senior Special Assistant on Creative Media, he was reappointed by Governor Willie Obiano, also as Senior Special Assistant, but this time, on Movie/Entertainment industry.
With the full support of his boss, Bob has expressed his interest to vie for the Anambra State House of Assembly to represent Idemili North constituency under All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

“The desire to contribute to the political process of development/transformation in Anambra State and help garner support of my massive followership for the government prompted me to contest. APGA is the party I chose because it is more like a movement than an ordinary political party in the South East. It is the party in power in Anambra State. I agree with its ideology of “togetherness for progress”. It has huge grassroots follower-ship. That’s why I joined the party” he told Potpourri.
But the seat which he’s vying for is occupied by a fellow entertainer, Tony One-Week, who is also seeking re-election.

“ It’s a coincidence that the incumbent is also an actor. My contesting against him is nothing personal. Our people deserve better representation. I have toured the 10 towns with 12 wards that make up Idemili North Constituency. All I kept getting was complaints of non performance from the masses against the incumbent! We can’t let that go on for another four years” he explained

Speaking on whether it would affect their relationship as colleagues in the movie industry, Bob Manuel-Udokwu said, “We didn’t have any special relationship before now, so the issue of it being strained doesn’t arise. We showed courtesy to each other whenever we met but we’ve not run into each other since my declaration to contest”
