Atiku Denies 120 Groups That Defected To PDP

Former vice president and presidential aspirant on the platform of the All progressives Congress, APC, Atiku Abubakar, has denied knowledge of the groups of politicians who had announced their defection from the APC to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, on Tuesday.

The former vice-president, who made this known in a statement issued by his media office in Abuja on Wednesday, stated that he remained a committed member of the APC, and advised the public to discountenance the “purported defections”.

The groups, which numbered about 120 and claimed to be supporters of Atiku, announced that they were formally leaving APC for PDP because their political leader had been maltreated and that aside him, there was no other viable alternative to Jonathan.
