UCHE JOMBO SLAMS BUHARI’S WIFE FOR INSULTING EDO WOMEN

She was said to have said this while campaigning for her husband last week in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Aisha was quoted to have said that if her husband is elected president in the March 28 election, he would stop the prostitution by Edo women abroad.

“I’m here today to let Edo women know that when my husband is elected into the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, all these are going to be history. The insecurity, the girl-child trafficking, suffering of the widows in the south-east will come to an end.
“There must be a design, a cultural design that can accommodate the widow, and then a design that can make the girl-child comfortable wherever she is in this country. She doesn’t need to leave her country to go and prostitute elsewhere.
“It is not her portion. Her portion is to have a moral, a highly standard moral society for her to live, get married, have children, train them, train them and also mould them to become the future our leaders,” Mrs Buhari was quoted to have said in Benin City.
But reacting to the alleged statement by Buhari’s wife, Uche Jombo said as a concerned Nigerian and a supporter of women advocacy forum, it is wrong for Mrs Buhari to have made such a sensitive statement.
“As a supporter of all advocacy for women; be it domestic violence, child marriage, women rights or what have you, I stay out of politics but I shared the last post when I saw it and made my research. I repeat, I don't care about APC or PDP.
“I have never taken money from any political party because I don't EVER want to lose my right to question people about their statements and if the First Lady made that statement, I will still post it as i don't like using stereotypical term in addressing 'issues',” the actress said.
The wife of the former military ruler has come under attack for the alleged statement.
