Lauryn Hill Cancels Trip To Lagos For Her Show

There’ll be a lot of bummed out fans, as Lauryn Hill has cancelled her trip to Lagos for her scheduled show tonight. 

The May Day Live concert was scheduled to feature the Grammy award winner but due had to be cancelled after Lauryn Hill had “flight issues.” According to the singer, things were not properly put in place by the promoters, but promised to try and reschedule her appearance.

The promoters have decided to postpone the show, and put out the following message to fans and those who purchased tickets: 

Due to Ms Lauryn Hill’s flight issues, the organizers of May Day Live and Ms Lauryn Hill management have concluded to postpone the show. A new date will be communicated soon. All Tickets bought will be used for the new concert date. Meanwhile a party will still hold today at Eko Hotel starting from 7pm, feel free to come and party as no tickets are required. The organizers of May Day Live apologize for any inconvenience.

Flights Delayed At Lagos Airport Due To Scarcity Of Aviation Fuel

Quite a number of flights have been cancelled and some delayed this morning at the Murtala Mohammed Airport due to scarcity of Aviation fuel. Some passengers reached out to LIB saying they have been at the airport since 6.30 and have not been able to fly out.

FG has already requested that marketers get paid so why are they not releasing fuel? Even me sef, I don't have fuel at home. Biko marketers, don't make life more difficult for Nigerians.

Fuel Scarcity Continues As Marketers Claim They Have Not Been Paid Yet

The Federal Government claimed that N156 billion was released on Thursday to oil marketers to facilitate the quick resolution of the current fuel crisis, the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), has said normal lifting of fuel will not resume not until they receive credit alerts from their banks. 


The Executive Secretary, Depot & Petroleum Products Marketers Association(DAPPMA), Odufemi Adewole, told Premium times via a phone call that none of its members and their counterparts in the Major Oil Marketers Association(MOMAN), had confirmed receiving any payment. “The money government said it was paying to marketers has not yet hit our accounts. So, there is little we can do about the situation. 

The money the Minister of Finance promised to pay us last February did not get into our hands till about four or five weeks later. If all members are not getting the money today, it means we have to wait till Monday. But, the truth is that nobody is going to call off the strike till the money is paid,” he added. 

Mr. Adewole said both DAPPMA and MOMAN had been writing letters to the Minister of Finance, who promised to pay both foreign exchange differentials, the interest on loans and outstanding subsidy in three tranches. Despite the Minister’s assurances, nothing seems to be happening, adding that no marketer was willing to take the risk of calling off the strike only for the government to fail to pay the money.

Mr. Adewole regretted that the situation was allowed to degenerate to the present level, pointing out that although the government was owing a total of N256 billion, it said it was now paying N156 billion, without any mention about the balance of N100 billion. 

But, even as the money was still being awaited by the marketers, the Finance Minister’s spokesperson, Paul Nwabuikwu, said the Ministry had prioritized the payment of about N156 billion to the marketers in spite of revenue constraints to government. 

The payment, Mr. Nwabuikwu said, consisted two components, made up of the cash backing of the N100 billion IOU paid to the marketers in March, while the N56 billion was interest payments for the marketers, according to the PPPRA template. 

“The N156 billion is the latest in a series of significant payments made to the oil marketers within the last five months, including over N300 billion in two instalments in December last year and N31 billion in interest differentials recently, totalling over N500 billion paid to marketers within the past five months. Although the fall in oil prices significantly reduced national revenues, the Minister noted that the government still prioritized payments to marketers to help remove the pains Nigerians were suffering as a result of fuel scarcity.

Who always find the negativities and complains others for their problems, they cannot stay happy in a relationship because no one like crying people, mostly people like happy and optimistic partner. Do share your sorrows and problems with your partner but stop crying every time. Everyone in life has problems but this doesn’t mean that you cry all the time. Stay happy and keep happy each other. Love is all about care and understanding, when you are together, pay your attention to your partner, listen carefully what they say and respond them attentively. Care about each other, remember the birthdays and other important events linked to them, believe me, these little act of kindness can make your relationship beautiful and healthy.

4. dont avoid to Appreciate each other
If you love someone, appreciate them; appreciate their efforts that they do just to make you feel happy. Tell them and realize them by your acts that how much you love them. It’s a daily job to tell them that you are precious and your presence in their lives is a blessing. Don’t think that you have told them how much you love them and now you are at that stage where you know each other enough and you don’t need to tell them that you love each other. 5.Don’t FIGHT in front of public/friends
If your partner has some weaknesses, you have some arguments on some issues or need to solve an issue then please avoid discussing them in front of public/friends. Solve it at home; don’t discuss it at any public place. These is something personal but always remember that these arguments should be in limits, you should kept in mind that how much you love each other. Don’t say something that hurt your partner.

Indonesia disregarded last-minute appeals and executed 8 drug traffickers including 4 Nigerians. Pictures of the dead being buried and details from their last minutes before being executed have been released to the media. According to the pastors who were with them in their final hours, Andrew Chan, Myuran Sukumaran and the other 6 death row inmates declined to wear blindfolds and were singing as they were shot by a 13-member firing squad in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The 8 men chose to face their executioners and spent their last minutes on earth praising God and singing songs which included ‘Amazing Grace’.

On Wednesday morning, Pastor Christie Buckingham – who read Chan and Sukumaran their last rites – said the 8 death row inmates walked out onto the killing field singing religious songs in the moments before they were executed. Pastor Buckingham said the men conducted themselves with ‘dignity and strength until the end’. Another pastor, Karina de Vega, said it was a ‘beautiful experience’.

Workers` Day: Buhari Hails Nigerian Workers’ Sacrifices In The Face Of Economic Ordeals

The President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari has extolled the sacrifices of the Nigerian working class in the face of economic tough times in their everyday struggle to survive.

In his May Day message to Nigerian workers, General Buhari said he was fully aware of the hardships of the Nigerian working class, which he said, was compounded by poor governance and large-scale pervasive corruption in the country.

According to him, the Nigerian working class are among the worst hit social groups on account of poor living standards, a situation, he said was inconsistent with Nigeria’s vast oil wealth.

General Buhari expressed dismay at the paradox of Nigeria’s oil wealth, characterized by rising poverty while a few corrupt officials are making themselves very rich at the expense of people’s wealth.

The President-elect also regretted the fact that honest labour has been relegated to the background.

He warned that a country that sacrifices honesty in favour of quick wealth by whatever means cannot expect to achieve progress and respect in the eyes of other nations.

General Buhari reassured the Nigerian workers that his incoming administration would be fully committed to boosting the morale of the Nigerian workers in order to increase productivity and their income.

He explained that productivity is directly related to the development of the country’s economy, adding that his incoming administration would increase incentives for the Nigerian workers in order to boost their income.

He, however, appealed to the Nigerian workers to cooperate fully with his incoming administration in order to tackle the monster of corruption, which he said is the greatest enemy of development.

General Buhari advised civil servants against connivance with corrupt politicians and other public officials to divert public resources to private use.
