Man Faces Jail Term For Kissing Blind Woman

27-year-old Stephen Hayes is facing jail term for kissing a blind woman who though he was someone else. Stephen according to Metro started dancing slowly with the woman who believed she was the man she met in the evening.

She realised Stephen Hayes was not the person when he tried to go under her clothes with his hand; she pushed him away with knee.
Stephen was arrested and charged to count and finally admitted the sexual assault on the second day of his trial at Plymouth Crown Court.
Prosecutor Jo Martin told the court that Hayes approached the woman in the Union Rooms pub in Plymouth in Devon at about 1am.
The unnamed woman had been on a night out with friends but says she was not drunk as she had only had a couple of glasses of wine.
The court learnt that she thought Hayes was a friend she had met earlier that evening and they danced closely and started kissing.
The prosecutor told the court that Stephen Hayes had moved to indecently touch her under her clothes when she realised the man was not her friend.
It was also revealed that a doorman had witnessed the incident.
Police the court learnt were called in an argument ensued between Stephen Hayes and the blind woman’s friend.
Miss Martin said an officer visited the woman at her home a few days later and that was when she decided to make an official complaint.
Stephen Hayes is however claiming that he did not know the woman was disabled and that he believed what happened between them was consensual.
The case has been adjourned to Friday, January 27.
