The beginning can be traced to the preparation towards the 2011 general elections when the present PDP-led government used musicians and Nollywood stars to entertain supporters at its rallies as well as canvass support for the party.
In a way, one can say it paid off for the party being the first time entertainers would be deployed as a tool for electoral gain. It would be recalled that music star, D’banj who is popular among music lovers and was the talk-of-the-town then played a major role in this regard, canvassing support for PDP and its candidates.
