Rivers State Assembly Takes Legal Action On Amaechi

Members of the House, according to Punch, on Tuesday, June 23, passed a resolution directing the state attorney general and commissioner for justice, Emmanuel Aguma, to compel Amaechi to make available his handover note to the current administration.
Explaining the reason for the motion, Dr Farah Dagogo who moved the motion, said:

“This is why this motion is exigent, considering the fact that the past administration failed to give a handover note. As it stands now, the current position of the state finances is unknown because the state is in a precarious position.”
The lawmakers flayed Amaechi’s refusal to provide the notes, saying his conduct could set a bad precedence if not immediately remedied.
Then they urged the attorney general to employ all the possible means to get Amaechi to provide that hand over notes, stating that no one was above the law.
