Trekkers Gallore! Man Trekking From Abuja To Ilorin For Senate Bukola Arrives Kwara

It is the season of trekking, amid the unending scarcity of fuel which the nation is facing. Trekking is another better alternative. But this time people trek to celebrate another who is of higher status. Another trekker was captured yesterday, according to NAN

A 25 year old man, David Godwin, who claimed to have been trekking from Abuja to Ilorin for the actualisation of Sen. Bukola Saraki’s senate president ambition has arrived in Omu-Aran in Kwara.
Godwin arrived the ancient town around 10 p.m. on Thursday through Ikole in Ekiti State.
He said on Friday that the trekking was his own way of giving his support to ensure the realisation of Saraki’s senate president ambition.
Godwin said that he was inspired by the intelligence and exemplary leadership style of Saraki.
The trekker became an instant hero as the news of his arrival spread in Omu-Aran with some youths, especially commercial motorcyclist struggling to catch a glimpse of him.
Godwin, who also claimed to be a fashion designer looked exhausted and tired with boils noticed on his both legs, said he was enjoying the journey.

He was officially received on Friday by Hon. Wasiu Awoniyi, a Councillor representing Omu-Aran Ward 3 in Omu-Aran, Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara with some youths in their hundreds.
Godwin was then accompanied to the palace of the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Charles Ibitoye, who gave him an undisclosed amount of money in appreciation of his feat.
Godwin, who claimed that he attached no financial inducement to the journey, said that he had never met Saraki in person but was convinced he had a lot to offer the country as the senate president.

“I have been monitoring the political career of the senator since he became the Governor of Kwara as far back as 2003.
“There is no financial inducement attached to this journey but I was actually inspired by Saraki’s intelligence, his leadership style and vision for this great country Nigeria,” Godwin said.
He said that the journey, which started on May 13, was now being monitored on twitter, Facebook and on mobile phones by friends and admirers.
Godwin, who said that his family was aware and approved of the journey, hoped to continue on Saturday morning after he might had rested for a while and also treat his swollen legs.
He said that he was optimistic of a rousing welcome by his friends and admirers who were already awaiting his arrival in Ilorin. (NAN)
